The last decade
witnessed a serious global recession. Just about in all
major economically powerful nations, millions lost
jobs, hundreds of businesses folded, stock
markets tumbled, and thousands lost their
life-time savings. The story in growing economies is
just as painful.
The purpose of
AIMS-7 is
to provide a forum that stimulates discussion on the
role of business schools and management education in
understanding the problems of global recession and
stagnation. B-schools have often not investigated issues
such as what businesses should do in such tough times.
Questions such as what do you do with the workforce, how
do you keep the company financially viable and remain competitive are important. The equally
important question is how B-schools should prepare
their students to cope up with such a challenge.
Therefore, the theme of the conference is: Global
Recession, Survival and Growth: Role of Management
Education.
The
conference will also provide opportunities for
networking and collaboration amongst scholars from
academia, industry and government. In addition to papers
on the conference theme, scholars are
encouraged to submit papers on any aspect of business
and management
such as accounting, marketing, finance,
OB, HRM, MIS, quantitative methods, technology
management, energy, operations, economics,
entrepreneurship,
information technology, strategy,
etc.
