Presently I am working as a Lecturer in Commerce in the D. R.
K. College of Commerce, Kolhapur. I have been in service since
August 1991. In addition to the basic qualifications like M.Com.,
N.E.T., and M.Phil, I have achieved qualifications like R.M.Com.-2,
G.D.C.&A., I.C.W.A.I (Finialist), P.G.D.C.A. (Computer),
Ph. D. and M.B.A. (II). During my service I have been actively
participating in most of the administrative and academic activities
of the college. I can teach Principles of Management, .Principles
of Marketing, Principles of Insurance, Costing, Management Accounting,
.Personnel Management, .Human Resource and Industrial Management,
.Business Finance, .Production Management, .Project Management,
Operation Research, etc.

Write-up:
Professor K.Nilakantan obtained his Bachelor’s degree
in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology,
Madras and then a Master’s-cum- Ph.D. from the Indian
Institute of Science, B’lore. His Ph.D. thesis was awarded
the gold medal of the Indian Economic Society for the best thesis
in the year 1990.He then went on for further studies in the
Dept of Mathematics at the University of South Florida, Tampa,
wherein he obtained another Master’s in Mathematics. As
a student he was inducted to the Phi-Kappa-Phi Honours Society.
Prof. Nilakantan has been with the National Institute of Industrial
Engineering, Mumbai for the last ten years, where he teaches
a wide range of subjects in the areas of Mathematical Modelling,
Operations Research, Optimization and Statistics. Prof. Nilakantan
has published papers in some leading international journals
and his research interests are in the applications of Dynamic
Optimization in Industrial, Business, environmental and biotech
systems.

Also qualified in PGDiploma (Computer Application); SLET Qualified;
Currently doing research in Finance; Dissertation will be submitted
in 2006 June; Undergone SAP-R3 training also. Assertive, committed
and result oriented, having 20 years of industrial and 8 years
of academic experience. Worked and traveled in most states of
India. Had a good exposure in general management, marketing
and strategic areas. While in industry, also performed additional
responsibilities in Government sponsored programs, bodies and
committees. Presently in academics, heading a department with
three courses in management. Established a good academic and
placement record.
